Eric Carle

This art project was done in the same style of which Eric Carle uses to create the pictures in his books. Some of Eric Carle's book are; The Very Hungry Caterpillar,Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?,The Tiny Seed, and The Mixed-Up Chameleon, just to name a few.

We did this project by first making our papers wich we painted with many different colors and added texture too. We then let the paper dry, and once dried we cut out the setting, and charaters for our book page.  In this project my setting is at a ocean with the bird flying to tell his friend the dolphin that a storm is coming. We then glued down the setting onto construction paper and narrated the story.

This extesnion activity could be used for any grade. The this project would be to have your students make a whole story book out of their pictures. The student would each recreate anoter picture but this time would not narrate the story on the picture. The teacher would place all of the picture so the class could see them and the class would then write out a story together, then write it on the pictures. The teacher would then bind it together and it would become a class book.
