Lines and Complementary Colors

This lesson is for a first grade classroom.This lesson talked about lines, patterns and complementary colors. First we started off with drawing thick and thin horizontal lines with our warm complementary color. After that dried, we made vertical lines with our cool complementary colors. After it all dried we cut out the shapes we need to use to make a bunny.

An extension of this activity could be used in math class when talking about lines. You could measure lines, compare thick and thin lines like in the plaid pattern.lines, and talk about were lines go.
