Water Colors and Lei Making

With this project we learned how to make Lei's and different techniques for water coloring. The different techniques are dry brush, wet on wet, blend, and crayon resist.

To make the lei's we started off with tracing or drawing flowers on construction paper. After we had 24 flowers cut out we started to string them. We first strung a flower and then a small cut piece of straw in between each flower. We continued to do so until our string was full.

An extension of this could be in science or geography. You could study the different types of flower in Hawaii and the parts of the flowers.
